ZS6BKW / G5RV Optimized Multi Band HF Dipole Antenna Poly-Stealth

$102.89$146.99$194.03
Last update was on: Wednesday, March 25, 2020

The ZS6BKW antenna is an optimized variant of the venerable old G5RV. Unlike the original G5RV, which requires an antenna tuner on all bands, the ZS6BKW / G5RV is capable of operating on 10, 12, 17, 20 & 40m bands, generally without a tuner, and with SWR readings usually at 1.5:1 or less. Using a tuner, 6, 15, 30 & 80m bands are attained with much higher efficiency than the original G5RV. Each Antenna is handmade to order with materials carefully tested & selected by Ni4L for quality & durability: Poly-Stealth 13 – machine crimped for permanent connection (92′), FLEXI 420-OHM LADDER LINE #16 AWG (40′), W2AU LL-TRANSULATOR, LADDER-LOC Center insulator, SS hardware & two small end insulators. Hanging the Z6SBKW/G5RV: The ZS6BKW/ G5RV is completely assembled and ready to hang. It requires about 92’ of space and should be hung around 40’ high or higher. It can be hung in a flat top or inverted V configuration. Unlike Windom and OCF Dipoles, the ZS6BKW / G5RV is a very forgiving antenna when it comes to nearby towers, trees, fences and other structures. IMPORTANT NOTE: As with all models of the G5RV antenna, the Optimized version also requires a minimum of 70 feet of 50-52 ohm coax to complete the matching network. Without this 70 foot of coax, the antenna will NOT function correctly.

RadioWavz G5RV Jr

$53.16$75.94$88.09
Last update was on: Wednesday, March 25, 2020

The RadioWavz G5RV Jr. antenna measures only 51 feet across the top for 40 thru 6 meter operation, and is fed at the center through a low loss 450 ohm ladder line. The interaction between the radiating section and the feed-stub makes the G5RV Jr. usually easy to match on all-bands from 40 meters through 6 meters with good antenna tuner. (An antenna tuner is required to make this antenna work on multiple bands)This antenna is made of high quality UV insulated 14awg. stranded wire on the top and a heavy duty 300 ohm twin lead. This 300 Ohm twin lead is made with heavy duty PVC made to last in the most inclement of environments. The twin lead terminates into a SO 239 connector.Band width: 40 meters to 6 meters (With a tuner)Antenna Width: 51 feet end to end 14awg. UV insulated stranded wire.Antenna hight: 14 feet 450 ohm ladder linePower: 1500w

Unadilla W2AU 4:1 Ladder-Line Transition Balun HF 160-6 Meters

$32.19$45.98$68.05
Last update was on: Wednesday, March 25, 2020

W2AU 4:1 Ladder-Line Transition Balun  Long the standard of the industry the W2AU baluns are built to last! 2 KW PEP (at SWRs of less than 3:1). W2AU Baluns are transformer designs with ferrite cores to provide 95% minimum coupling efficiency. Each has a built-in lightning arrestor, and 600 lbs of pull-apart strength in a weatherized, rugged package using only stainless steel hardware and quality materials. USAGE NOTE: Since many Hams are the inventive types, it should noted that they also tend to not read the instructions and succeed in achieving their goals. In any event, the matchbox is a tuner and all it does is make the transmitter believe it has an antenna with a lower SWR than it really has. This way it will introduce more power to the antenna than it can typically radiate. A random length antenna, one not tuned to any one frequency is a compromise antenna. Anywhere it is not resonant it will produce significant SWR above 3:1. With 200 watts of continuous key down CW it would heat up the core of the W2AU balun, at the feed point, and damage it, but that is the extreme example. Many Hams understand this and do it anyway with care. Also, note that new solid state equipment further limits your operating options never contemplated over 50 years ago when these instructions were made. The equipment manufacturer dictates the parameters of your operating ability. It is suggested that if using ladderline, no balun, because a balun at the feedpoint, would interfere with the radiation that the offset antenna needs from the ladderline. Instead use a W2AU 4:1 Ladder Line Balun at the end of the ladder line transitioning the ladder line to a coax entry into your shack. A 4:1 extends resonances available. Some hams use a 1:1. These are some ideas in using an offset antenna.
